if i install a cat bypass, will i need to adjust my mixture?
just wondering. (i will also, install a gutted stock muff at the same time).
thanks cliff |
Someone that knows for sure will chime in. In my case I did it to the 964 without any additional changes to the car... I would venture to say that you probably will not need to make any changes.

You may or may not plug in the O2 sensor. The system will run rich if left out (by default). This was not the most technically advanced emissions setup.
Good luck, Tom |
I didn't with my 82. I have the Bursch "test pipe" and 1 in 1out. I also have a new functioning 02 sensor.
|
Cliff I did not have to with my car I just made sure the 02 sensor was in place. But your 3.0 might be a tad different than the 3.2.

You may need (want) to richen it up a little, which is what I did. I believe the newer motronic cars will adjust automatically and those folks don't need to do anything.
|
YES YES you change your VE with a cat bypass. if all you do is a catbypass then you are wasting your time. Chip your car or richen it....
