CIS ajustment

I know somewhere in the Pelican Tech articles
there is something about this but I can't
seem to find it.It has to do with hooking
a dwell meter up and using this to check the
duty cycle of the injectors to properly set
the idle.Where is this info or who do I
use the dwell meter to checi this?
Thanks!!

K-Jet CIS injectors don't have a duty cycle in fact there is no electic going to them at all. Fuel volume is strictly based on fuel pressure from the regulator. It sounds like you're talking about pulsed injectors like on L-Jet or Motronic.

K-basic systems have no O2 sensor and so there is no duty cycle to look at. K-systems (or L or whatever) that do have an O2 sensor can be adjusted as you say.

There is a round test plug in the engine compartment fuse box, just forward of the fuses. It has three prongs. the brown is ground. the wire you're looking for is green, I believe. Hook a DIGITAL dwell meter to the green lead, and ground the other dwell meter lead. Set the dwell meter on "4-cylinder" dwell.

With the engine at operating temperature, the dwell reading shoudl center on 45, cycling back and forth about ten degrees (between 40 and 50).

I believe a high reading means a lean misture. A (I believe) 3mm Allen tool is needed to adjust the mixture and it must be the correct length, about 4 or 5 inches. I believe clockwise richens the mixrure, but I'm not sure.

It is a VERY touch adjustment. Always end going clockwise. Gently take the allen tool out of the adjuster to make a final reading as the tool has weight. DO NOT blip the throttle while the tool is in place. "In place" is a hole between the rubber air boot and the octopus fuel distributor at the top of the air box.

Good luck. Let me know if you have questions. I believe that with a cold engine, or wiht the O2 sensor unhooked, the reading will be a steady 45 degrees. The cycling at operating temp tells you the O2 sensor is working.
