Thumbs up Tell me not to buy 9x16 Fuchs!

Someone out there tell me why I shouldn't go 7's and 9's on my 85 Coupe. I need new tires and was thinking of the wheel upgrade at the same time. My car is at Euro height right now and I plan for mostly street and the odd DE day.

Cash burning a hole in my pocket.

Lawrence

You'll need all of your cash for the 9's.

There is no good reason not to if you have the money. I can't wait to get 9's.

The 7s and 9s fit perfectly on an 85. 225s in front and 245s in the rear. Fills out the wheel wells nicely and works great on the track. Go for it!

Look at tire availability.

You may want to step up to 17s if you want to put tires on the new wheels.

The first set will be on my car the first week of March. If fit and finish are right, they will be available for delivery in late March!

7's and 225's will not fit without work.

"Work" being negative camber and rolled or cut fender lips. Even 205/55's with 7's can rub.

Anyway, they DO look great!

Less tire bulge with 205's on 7's. A cleaner look.

Here is a picture of my car. I have 16x7 on the front and 16x9 in the rear. Front tire size is 205, and rear is 225.

Lindsey's wheels are also an option They are not much more, have fuchs centers and are 17s. That's what my plan was, before I figured I'd rather have 18s, big reds and a 3.6.

Are you sure you want 16 x 9?

You might end up with something like this:

I say buy them, I did. If you think about it, they really hold their value unlike some other wheels or knock offs. Probably one of the few "mods" that you can do to your car and still get the money back out if you decide to sell them at a later date. The only potential down side I see is tire availability.
