Varioram Question

I'm getting ready to purchase a varioram intake and am trying to figure something out.

Can someone tell me what the piece is that's attached to the very top of the intake (top plenum), near the front (towards tranny). It's somewhat cylindrical (w/ hoses off it) and rests in the half circle casted mount which is part of the intake.

The intake I'm looking at does not have this piece. Should it?

The piece can be seen here FS 9/96 Varioram motor 28k miles!

Thanks-
Craig Backer

I'm guessing the V part means valve.

Idle Stabilization Valve

It keeps the idle steady at ~ 800rpm&#177 when it's working, and there are no other issues
