Trailing Arm Bushings

I just finished removing the banana arms on my 72 911T to replace the trailing arm bushings. After installing the new poly bushings I noticed that the original steel sleeves do not fit through my new bushings[TWEEKS]. WHAT GIVES! Although the through bolts fit tight in the new bushings without the sleeves. It seems to me the sleeves should be used. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you should just be happy they fit ... you are, after all, at the mercy of the parts-picker when your order is filled ... and not everyone always gets what they order ...

And, it is quite commeon for poly-graphite bushings to eliminate the steel bushing and hasve the bolts ride directly in the plastic! I guess the 85-90 Durometer (Shorr A) poly is hard enough for there not to be a wear issue!
