Can't swing out Struts

I have an '83 SC with braided brake lines.

In reading Wayne's project book, I am supposed to be able to swing out the strut. It looks like in my case, I need to disconnect the brake lines.

Has anyone replaced their front inserts with braided oil lines? Did you have to disconnect the lines?

Oh, and yes, I have searched the archives. I am actually confused about the 'pin' mentioned in numerous threads. Mine seems to not have this pin, and the insert is held by the 'collar nut'. .

Thanks

No problem.
You need to undo the brake line clip(simple "c" clip) that holds the flexible line to the strut housing. This will allow you to swing the strut out from the fender after pushing the top portion down. Be careful as it will want to fully extend as you are coming out from the fenderwell.

I had rubber lines when I did mine but it doesn't matter.

EDIT: Some strut inserts have a roll [in near the bottm holding it in place. It sounds like you have Boge struts. These do not have the roll pin, just the collar nut.
