In my limited Porsche 911 knowledge, they look to be early chrome sugar scoop style. I say that because it looks to be one retaining screw on bottom of ring. But, someone else more knowledgeable will chime in I am sure.

Like V8 said, those appear to be early standard US-spec sealed beam headlights. I think they are likely pre-84, since they are chrome - the 84+ Carreras were painted body color I believe. The plastic pieces look new - as they age they will fade from gray to a tan.
I don't think think they're particularly valuable unless they are NOS.

There is no such thing as a US-spec H4. US lights were sealed beams. The H4 lights were ROW only. They are completely different assemblies.

In a way, both yellowbird and javadog are correct. AS DELIVERED, and as ordered by USA D.O.T. pointy headed bureaucrats of the time, these headlight assemblies were designed to hold the D.O.T. mandated 7" round sealed beam lights as made in the USA by Sylvania, GE, etc. BUT many guys back in the day quickly got better light output by converting to 7" round headlamps that accepted the H-4 bulb. The better and more expensive option was to convert to Bosch H-1 assemblies.
Supercarrera? The guys are right...these headlight assemblies aren't worth a lot. Every 911 imported into the USA during the years of mandated sealed beams had them installed. Nothing scarce about them at all. I have a set on my garage shelf from when I converted to H-1's back in the mid 1970's...

What v8_ranch said. Sometime in the 70s, didn't the sugar scoops move to having holes in the rings for the adjusting screws? I don't see them in the photos, just the single, bottom hole for the mounting screw.

Those lights still look like sealed beams to me. It's hard to tell from a low resolution photo but, the replacement H4 assemblies that fit US housing hardware that I have seen and used have all had a flat face to the lens. Those lenses are convex and appear to have fluting that matches the sealed beams units made by Hella. For what it's worth... JR |
