Engine Out - Hooray!!!

Well today was the day. I was lucky to be able to get a great deal of help from a new friend and Pelican member from PA. The entire job took 7 hours. But now the engine is finally out of it's old home and headed for a new one.

Color

It's called Gelbgrun. Yellow green, Supposedly a popular color in California in 1974 where this Targa was deliverd new.

It grew on me as time went by.

Gotta love another alumnus of the "drop club" sticking their head out the back...

Looks like you're on a scissors lift, that should've helped. Congratulations!

PS-I'm dropping mine next week.

Engine Drop next week

Well good luck. Having an experienced person showing me the step by step was a great benefit and learning experience.

Good luck with yours. Is it the first time?

No, it will be my second. I remember the anxiety before the first drop. After it was done, I was amazed at how simple and straight forward it was. Going back in was even easier, and it was awesome starting it successfully.

Re-Installing Engine

It is amazing how the perception of something can be so dramtically altered by the experience of adoing it. I can see how firing up the engine after a re-install can be awesome.
