Front Bumper Rubber Strip

Just got my car back from the paintshop and had to order a new front bumper rubber strip, along with the mounting strip and associated hardware.

Question is, do I slide the mounting strip onto the rubber strip, then snap on the car, or snap the mounting strip on the car, then slide the rubber strip onto it? Or does it make a difference.

I believe he paint shop damaged the old mounting strip on removal, so I want to be sure I put it on correctly the first time.

Post paint pics

Too Freudian even for me

Put the mounting strip in place and then slide the rubber strip onto it. Use some rubber dressing in the grooves to help it along.
