H1 lens spider web, whats with all these clips?
Today, I did a little lighting upgrade to my 1978 SC that has H1 headlights. I went from the 55w low beams to the 100w PIAA super bright bulbs including the relay kit. I thought that while I had the cans out that I would change out the lenses as well. Upon examination of the assembly it seems like there are 1 gazzilion single clips that hold the lens in. Is that correct? Does anyone have experience with this? Any constructive input is welcome....

They keep the lens in place, they have to be evenly spread out when clipped in or place them back as OEM. I used one as a sample when I replaced my H1 lenses to the H4 lenses, no worries same pattern ___/___/
You also need ceramic sockets for those hot babies.

I replaced the stock 55w bulbs with 100w Piaa super bright. Installed the relay kit. The wiring for the high beam bulbs seem to be the same gauge as the low beams and they are 100w. In case you don't realize, the H1 setup uses separate bulbs. My thoughts are that its fine. Also asked several knowledgeable people and the general opinion is that only the relay kit is needed.
