decklid lettering fasteners
Hello all,
Im putting "PORSCHE" script and "911S" on my new decklid. The mounting hardware are rubber-backed press on fasteners that Im sure some of you are aware of. I was told that the posts for the lettering were supposed to poke through the hole in the metal of the fasteners. Ive pressed very firmly by hand and this doesnt happen. Pess harder or what? Thanks ![]() ![]() |

The second picture is really blurry. It looks like if you press alittle harder they might bite. You might have to modify/reverse crimp the fasteners. Place them on a flat surface and use a hammer and a bolt to force the top of the fastener down so when you put it on the metal post the threads grab at a lower point.

What you need to do is use an 8 mm nutdriver or 6-point socket to press on the outer periphery of the fastener. You might even try twisting the fastener while pressing down.
