what muffler angle
I would assume these need to be angled a bit up into the bumper, but how much? Should I put some tips on them to extend out further?

If you angle them up more, aren't they going to touch the bumper?
Seems like that type of muffler always exits below the bumper. Might want to put some tips on to extend them and thus keep the hot exhaust gas off of the underside of the bumper.

the more angled down is better so you don't get flagged for being to loud

I'll have to make some cutouts in the bumper to clear them, just need to decide the angle to know how much.

Gotcha.
Seems like Ben has a point about the sound. No need to angle them up any more then they already are. I wonder if it is possible to modify the flange or the short tube connecting the muffler so that you cna have to have them exit below your bumper, elminating the need to cut the bumper? The flanges on Ben's are designed to offest the mufflers downward: Maybe too much trouble though...

The mufflers aren't welded to the flanges yet, so I can make them any angle, and I'm not worried about cutting the fiberglass bumper, I already have the stock location to fill in. I'm just concerned about dragging the ground when putting the car on the trailer.

I could put some turn downs on the ends to point the exhaust down, help keep it from being way too loud and just be too loud.

Mufflers are welded up and bumper is cut. Now to the rest of my maintenance so I can assemble it all, plus fill the other hole in the bumper and get ready for paint. The fun is never done.....

All the engine maintenance is done now. We'll fill her with oil, then install the headers and mufflers tonight, then see what she sounds like.
I'll take video to try and pass on the sound. Film at 11!

Hey Paul,
I'll be at CMP on the 3-4th of March. Couldn't get the March VIR in my schedule, but I really wanted to.

I'd put some "dumps" on those like you said to help with sound. It'll still be plenty loud and will indeed help with the sound police at the track. I've seen it work.
I'd also recommend some kind of support for your mufflers. There's the potential for something cracking at either a weld/joint, or a pipe itself, by having them hang free

Kevin, glad you mentioned the supports, I was going to ask if I needed to tie them down, cut down on vibration. Don't like the idea of one parting company with the car on the track.
