where to find bellows deletes?

Hope this makes sense. If I change my bumpers to a 74 RS style, do I need to still get bellows delete panels. Where can I find these?

Thanks

I don't know of anyone making these- clever thought , but it would require 2 piece molds so the bumper and extensions fit properly

Hmmm... who do we know that sells FG parts for Porsches?

Hmmm....http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pray.gif

I have thought the same thing...I wish somebody made them....I have asked a couple of the more well known suppliers of FG parts....and came up empty handed....I would love to delete the bellows on my car without having to replace the whole bumper.....if you find somebody that does it....PLEASE send me a PM....PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE

If you mean to do something like this then you do not need bellow deletes or anything like that. It's part of the bumper.

I think the point is to get the smoother look without replacing the bumper.

In his initial post, v8_ranch asked regarding a bumper change unless I misinterpreted it.

"Spede", You are correct. After rereading the thread, I got my impression from a later post from "stormmaster".

TRE Cup 03-24-2007 09:12 AM

yeah- i misread it too- i thought he wanted to keep the oem bumpers and replace the accordion bellows with smooth fiberglass filler pieces.

Would you pay $280 per pair for these, if we were to invest in making the molds ? It may catch on with people smoothing out their metal bumpers (removing the rubber strips and bumperettes ) You still have impact protection BUT the solid connection between the bumpers and extensions/ fenders will cause those to kink in an impact. Perhaps even worse than going with a full fiberglass bumper

now who sells those?
:D

TRE
Make 3, one each for the left and right and one more for the right with a built in air scoop.

that's a great idea jmpro! thanks- now we've got a new product in the making

It gives me an idea on making a front bumper filler too- to replace the rubber strip. It will be easy to paint and cover the oe mountings . Not "factory" look, but a fresh approach over filling that channel in with bondo

I have to finish our new 934 lower valence (for 930 front ends) first, then i can move on to these. It will take about 2-3 months till we have some production on the bellows

JMPRO 03-24-2007 09:48 AM

TRE,
Ya, , just don't cut into my cooler scoop sales ha ha. I've had this idea for a while but I don't want to get into any more f/g stuff as it is so hard to find good people to produce this stuff. My scoop now is made with a cast polyurathane and my air box cover will soon change to that process.

Thanks Steve, I have couple of thoughts going, but your car looks great. That is the look I am looking for.

stormmaster 03-24-2007 12:12 PM

I hope you do front and rear.....if you need a test mule i will be happy to volunteer......

TxSquash 03-24-2007 01:04 PM

Guys,... do this! I've called around, nobody makes these pieces.
You get to keep your own bumper and clean up the look for a modest price. This is a winner.

SCWDP911 03-24-2007 01:18 PM

Dave,

Does this mean I get inspiration discount!

I have an even better idea I have been wanting to do myself, but do not have time to find the right resources. Email me at vanweys@charter.net if you would like to discuss further. Humbly, I do think it could be a big seller for you, but would be interested in your opinion, as you know the market much better than I do. ***BONUS*** it has nothing to do with womens boots!

Thanks,
Shane

+1 for front and rear bumper inserts to smooth the looks without sacrificing real bumpers.

How about a new rocker panel that is smaller and more trim than the stock one by replacing the rubber piece with FG?

porsche911girl 03-24-2007 03:57 PM

This sounds great. I'm interested. Subscribed.

jtfreels 03-24-2007 04:11 PM

Shane not sure if you'll get a discount, but it might make up for the steering wheel cover thread:)

Jay
