Redo--->1986 Targa - Electric Windows
Sorry, I couldn't find my original post.
1986 Targa. Electric windows don't work. 1. Replaced all switches on driver and passenger doors (3 total). 2. Replaced # 1 fuse. Nothing..nada. Anyone have a good shop in the Bay Area to take the car to? I would prefer somewhere I could drop off and then have an easy cab ride to the BART or other public transportation if possible. So disappointed... |

I think this is pretty common and you can fix it yourself. I bet the wires between the body and door are broken?

that or the power wire popped out of the connector at the fuse panel.

Connection at fuse panel looks to be fine for fuse#1. Of course, I now just broke with 25A bullet fuse I got from PP (bent the metal connector up on the fuse itself).
So, no chance of working on it this weekend. Can I get any of these type of fuses locally so that I can avoid paying shipping and possibly work on the car this weekend? Does a broken wire between the body and the door panel cause both windows to stop working? Where/what to look for there? Still taking recommendations for auto shops. Euro Motors on 6th Street in San Francisco anyone? Any shops between SF and the SFO Airport would be best. |

Old Thread
Did you buy a cheapo meter yet and figure out how to use it? Could be a lot cheaper than replacing every part. |
