RUF BTR: What's this knob for?
This is a pic from the ex-Alois Ruf BTR for sale in Europe. I know the knob between the seats is Laderdruck (boost pressure), but what is the knob coming out from the tunnel? CIS fuel enrichment?

Amir-
It looks like a cockpit adjustable brake-bias knob to me. Ruf offered this on BTRs; see http://www.midwestperformancecars.com/inventory_detail.php?id=139&num_images=16.5&firstImage=images/imagesForId139/01.jpg

Tony, that make sense. But, I wonder why it's at the back of the tunnel and not somewhere in front of the driver so he could see the knob's orientation. Interesting.
Similarly, this CTR2 also has a knob to the right of the center console that also controls something (maybe brake bias also), and has an accompanying gauge that has a differential symbol on it similar to what was used in the Porsche 911 C4RS ltwt. ![]() ![]()

That's also where Ruf put the brake bias adjuster on the CTR. I suppose it has to do with a convenient place to interupt the line going to the rear brakes. Attached are a couple photos of the adjuster on the first CTR. JR ![]() ![]() |

The Tilton brake bias control on my 79 DP935 is mounted in the same area.

I love the attention to detail. That cheesy little leather boot is so unnecessary, but it finishes off the hardware real nicely. I never realized the brake line actually coming out of the top of the knob (in the original pic I posted, it looks like a marker so you can see which way it's turned), it's very artful in a mechanical kind of way.
