What caused this to break and have I damaged anyting else ....89 911 cab...

I was checking the speedo sensor under the 911 on the trans (which is now working) and unfortunately stumbled across this problem at the rear pasenger side of the 911 .... (view from passenger side wheel well). The piece that the bar attaches to just seared right off. At first, I thought I was just missing a nut but then realized it was still attached to the sheet metal. I am taking it to the shop tomorrow as I am worried about driving around with a broken sway bar (?) mount. Any ideas on how this happened and whether I have screwed up my suspension?

Pretty common on these cars,....

Your shop can weld that up but for a more permanent repair, I would remove the factory mounts and have them weld on the WEVO ones.

Is there a part number to it? Or will they know what I am talking about when I call?

It is the rear sway bar mount and yes as Steve said it is pretty common to tear out. Replace with the heavy duty mount.

I agree dont F around use the Wevo mont. They have to grind thie old mount off and I think you'd only like to pay for this service once, eh?

The replacement factory part also breaks...

Thanks for the quick responses. I am going to order the WEVO mount tomorrow and then confirm that my shop is familiar with the repair.
