ANYONE KNOW A SOURCE TO REFERENCE 911 PART #S

I am trying to do a little research on the motor rebuild that a previous owner had done a few ago. Would like to know if anyone has a source to reference the part#s on all of my receipts to determine what was used on my rebuild.

Thanks

The best way is to get a factory parts manual! For the early cars they are $179-199 and significantly cheaper for the later cars I think. Good luck,

I think the Stoddard Catalog has 911 part #s.
I'm not shure if they match the factory's, but you might give them a call and see.

Spend $5.00 for the Stoddard 912/911 parts catalog. It uses factory part numbers, and they are also great to deal with. Website is http://www.sicars.com, I believe.

Good point, yes Stoddard does use Porsche factory numbers -- they ARE a major Porsche dealership and service shop. Unfortunately their catalog is not nearly comprehensive, but most commonly replaced parts are in there. For the rest, the factory manuals are the ticket.

Try the factory parts manuals on Microfiche.

They cost a fraction of the price.
Buy them, then go to your local Library and print them off of their Microfiche reader., or get a cheap reader yourself off E-Bay.

Best of Luck!
Nick.

Right Here.
Pelican sells a book called the Porsche Parts and Technical Reference Catalog. $9.95.
I has everything, but hardware ( nuts & bolts ). Includes diagrams. I use it to order parts direct from Porsche's Reno Warehouse. I have an import repair shop order them for me. Mountain Imports in Missoula, Montana. Next day delivery.
Hope this helps. Cary Kutter

I too have the Parts and Technical Reference Catalog (911 1974-1989).
It has lots of parts numbers and some useful tips, but itīs by no means comprehensive.

The other day I was checking the parts the P.O. had replaced when the steering was overhauled (the work was done by Porsche factory garage at Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart!) and could actually find only about 1/3 of the part numbers.
