Another Al Reed rocks thread and before/after shots

I have had this car for about 7 months now and finally have had a chance to post some updated pics.
Here is what it looked like when I got it, notice the door guards, they had to go.

I bought some floor mats (I know some hate them) and added a new steering wheel. I also bought the linkage bushings and upgraded them (they crumbled when I took them out) and it actually shifted much better and could come out of 5th without worring about hitting reverse.

Now I bought some 6's and 8's from a forum member and the 7's of course did not match so I sent them to Al. And this is how it sits this morning.

I removed the fog lights because they just don't flow but will probably put them back on.

Thanks for the help and feedback so far, it is very enjoyable and educational on this forum.

Thanks
Phil

awesome!

Car looks great! I wonder if you left those square fogs off and replace with a countersunk and trimmed out round light in their place (kind of like on the miata from 97 on). Seems like it might look better but only my opinion...

You only need some H4's now!

Thumbs up

I like it. Even the stone guards seem to be OK on silver cars.
Good wheel upgrade, you had 15s up front before?
Now go water the damn lawn, please!

Looks great! I second the suggestion for the H4 headlight upgrade. The lights that Porsche was forced to use by the US DOT from '68-86 are a disgrace.

Cool

Bermuda or some other strain that goes dormant when it's cooler out I reckon. H4s, for sure.

where is the best deal on H4's and what are all of the pcs needed for a stock 82'SC? Someone told me that Pelican did not have the correct relay or some german sounding word part...maybe it is a guys name?.. thus need to get all of the H4 stuff from that source.

Thanks, and that is my favorite color on 911's!!!!! sweeeeeeeet...

I'm not a fan of stone guards, perhaps on a turbo but not on an SC or Carrera. If you like them, that's fine. i 'm just making the point, most cars you see on the PPBB don't have stone guards, otherwise the upgrade on the wheels looks great.

Looks great. I guess I'm with you, but in the minority - I like the stone guards. In fact, that was the first thing my wife bought for my 911...

Later,
Mike

Pelican of course! Gotta patronize our host. The name you may be thinking of is Marcus Sucro. I have his email address somewhere, just ordered a set of his relays for my car. I have been running H4's (from Pelican of course) for the last 1-1/2 years using 55/60W bulbs with no problem...so far. BUt I decided I kept hearing a lot about overloading the headlight switch so I am installing the relays kit. At $25 it is CHEAP insurance and it will let me run 55/100's or even 80/100's!

Thanks Dan for the info. I couldn't recall if it was a all parts from 1 source or how to best make up the kit.
I'll call Pelican this AM.
Thanks again!
Bob

Well I actually could live without the stone gaurds so no big deal on the comments. My only concern is that they were on it when I bought it and I would rather have them on than pulling them off and having chipped paint. Do they usually pull paint when they come off?

One question: Why would anyone hate floor mats?

By the way, I like the stone guards. Put them on my black Carrera and, although not as big a contrast as on a light colored car, I think they add a bit more depth to the rear fenders.
