WOW is me PART II

Well, after my post about selling my car, I started to make preperations to do the dreaded deed. I was on my way to the car wash when I noticed my TEMP was way up - over 200. The outside temp was around 70 and my oil level is perfect. I tried cleaning the outside of the oil cooler, added some BG oil cleaner and re-checked the oil level...

Any ideas? I do not think I will be able to sell her with this going on, and I really must start to collect $$$ ASAP.

Anyone want a 77S CHEAP ???

VIPRKLR,

Why are you selling her anyway?

Viprklr,

You realise your 911 is a centiant being dont you?

It knows you are trying to sell and will do everything in its power to stop that sale from happening.

You need to talk to it nicely and explain what is going on. At the moment it thinks you dont love it anymore.

Everytime I think of selling mine it develops a problem.

Anyway, Do you have an external oil cooler?
You can check if that is getting warm. If you dont then check the engine oil cooler is getting warm. I think its located towards the back of the engine on the right.

If your oil coller isnt getting warm then it could be the thermostat.
If the coller is hot it might just be the temp sender. Which I think you can remove and test in hot water etc..

Sorry to hear about you prediciment.

Alex.

P.S If anyone in the uk is interested in buying a nice 2.7 Targa then let me know.

200 degrees is pretty normal for a 911 in Denver. I will buy it for what you paid for it. You know where I am.

PROBLEM SOLVED:

Drove the car this morning and the temp was stuck at 200 right after startup.

Replaced the sending unit and she's back down to 170.

I haven't been paying attention lately. So why are you selling your Porsche?

Is it to buy another Porsche?
