ROW Test Pipe (cat-bypass) pics????

Does anyone have a pic of an OEM Test Pipe (aka Cat Bypass)?
Also, anyone running one on a U.S. legal 3.0 SC with factory muffler?
And if so, what observations do you have to share on performance, smog-check, sound, etc?

Derek,

It looks like this:

I was going to go this route after my last smog check, but from what I gathered, noticeable HP gains only happened when you also used a chip and a different muffler. As for smog check, I don't think you will pass visual.

That's the Fabspeed one, right? So it looks like that?

I don't expect real noticeable HP gains, but I've read about quicker throttle response, cooler temps from less cat backpressure, blah blah blah. More of a "better experience" sort of vibe, if that makes sense.

And according to the guy I might get one off of, he passed consistently. I figured I'd keep my factory cat anyway for smog tests.

Yes, that's a Fabspeed.

Here's a pic of a genuine OEM Eureopean premuffler, provided by a genuine European

And here's a pic of a new aftermarket Dansk premuffler, pretty much the same thing:

ah, so that's why they're mistaken for cats.

Here's one in simplistic form that I was going to install, but after removal found my cat to be gutted. Decided to leave it alone because of emissions visual test, and sold the bypass.

The OEM looks like the ones pictured in Wayey's post. I have one on my SC. I wont even try and smog without swapping it every other year.... the aftermarket cat goes on and off when necessary.

I didnt think the sound was that much different, not really any louder from an aftermarket cat with a stock muffler. The main reason to change for me was heat and temp control. It is hot here in Sac and cat's create mucho heat on the left bank and more backpressure... Temps have dropped after the change, but I needed an air-fuel adjustment to the CIS to compensate for less back pressure.

It may provide a bit more power, but not a huge gain. The gains are elsewhere in my mind.

Good luck
