Fuel Guage light on ??????

I noticed a couple of days ago my fuel gauge light started coming on, even after filling it up with gas. Today while driving around the light would not go off, even though I know the car had gas. Did a search on this and nothing? Any clues on how to fix this?

I beleive the reservoir light is part of the fuel tank sender unit. There are three connections on the sender, one is ground. Remove the the other two (one at a time) and see if the light extinguishes. I guess you may have to change the sender.

You'll find some tips and ideas here:

Recomnditioning Fuel Sending unit

I had a problem with my gauge being pegged at 1/4 tank. Removed the fuel sending unit and found that the outer cover tube had detached from the top and was hanging in the guide wires - not alowing the float to move properly. Re-attached the tube by crimping the top edge to hold and cleaned the contacts. Put it back together and no problems since! Worth trying before springing for a new unit. Light stuck on sounds like a corroded contact - particularly if the gauge is accuratley displaying your fuel level.

P.S. Try searching for "fuel sending unit" - you'll find a lot of info

Good luck.
