Kinky hose and cheeseheads

OK Gang,
I'm closing in on my 2.7RS rebuild/six conversion on my 914, and I'm working on my oil plumbing. Take a look at this picture, and tell me if you think the hose is kinked or not. It's the section between the filter and oil tank. The other hose to the right of the filter is not attached yet. The section is so short that some deformation is inevitable, but after 2 years and 8 months on jackstands, and however many uncounted thousands of dollars overbudget that I am, I've developed a paranoia about anything that would crater my install. Do you think that this will induce a restriction of oil flow? If so, is it significant? This is the last section of return hose before the oil is returned to the tank. Hose is -12 braided stainless.

And on a completely unrelated note, can someone tell me what the size and pitch on the screws that go here is? Our host doesn't sell them in a box of less than 50, and I need two. Maybe I can source them at the local bolt shop. Or, I'd paypal a couple bux to someone who could send me three or four.

I can't believe it, I'm almost done!!

Jay,

I just got through reading your 9 page post of your engine install and need to thank you for a half hour of entertainment as well as some true educational content. I'm in the middle of my own 914-6 conversion and have to say you have definitely given me some inspiration.

I'm getting close to welding in my Rich Johnson mount and will probably need to relocate my proportioning valve also. Where did you end up getting your metric end bake lines that you used in your conversion? Any words of advice on that particular aspect of the project you would care to share?

Thanks again for sharing your project. I look forward to seeing it on the road.

Rob

Looks like your right at max bend on that hose. I would go with a hard line or, if it's a aircraft, 2-90˚ fittings and a loop of hose (like 1 foot) should do the trick. You want a little room for vibration so that line doesn't leak. Any sheet metal screws will work (us, metric) in there.
