I bought mine at the local Pep Boys. It was a set of 4 I believe with different sizes.

A T-40 torx socket seemed to fit pretty well. Probably not the perfect tool though.

What you want is an 8mm "triple square" 3/8" drive socket. Call your area tool sellers, you're bound to find one.

google "zdmak" or hit here: http://www.toolss.com/wbstore/main.asp?action=PROD&PROD=JT-XZN1008PC&CTMP=1
if you type in "triple square" in the search box, you'll get more choices.... don't use torx. paul is right, this is the correct tool. |

I got mine at the local Shucks. Set of 4 for like $10-15 or something.

I don't remember whether it's a 10 or 12 mm, but Pelican does have them.

Yikes! Way off. Well, I didn't see an 8 in the catalog, so I was clearly guessing on that one. The thing is, I have all 3 sizes, so I didn't think on it too much.

Probably not the *proper* tool but I managed to adjust mine with the right sized allen wrench out of a metric allen head set. Just made sure that the socket was cleaned out and that the wrench was well set into the socket. The important thing was that it was out of a metric set for a tight fit; none of the SAE ones will fit tightly.

Any advice on how to remove a stripped striker bolt?
I guess I have to use one of those drill type bolt removers? Thanks. Kirk

You should be able to tack weld a piece of square stock and use an adjustable wrench. Or just drill the head out with a large center drill. PM me if you need to borrow any tools.

The set I have is the one Dave linked to. Kirk..your bolt probably got stripped by somebody using a hex or a torque socket when trying to remove or install. Clicking on Milt's link did lead me to an 8mm triple square offered by our host...
Just joshing you a bit, Milt...I probably did what you did. Took the set to the car, tried one, then another, until I got the fit. ![]()

Done and done. Nothing like having the right tool, found them at the local auto parts store. Thanks again, Pat
