H4 question

I am thinking about upgrading my lights to H4 status. Currently I've got whatever is stock on a 1987 carerra. I am puzzled by what the options are. Most places list Bosche H4 kits that include new everything for about 250.00 each. I just found a Hella H4 for about 50.00 model # HELLA-70477 . I am thinking that the hellas will just sit where the stock ones do without replacing all of the housing. They also have different wattage bulbs available. Does anybody have any experience with these. If so, what do you think?

The Hella's are a replacement for the stock lamp, no change in the housing. Basically you will have an H4 lamp and bulb, but will look like stock. IMHO I would go for the real H4 with housing, personal opinion is that hey look better with the narrow width trim ring and the protruding lens, but again personal oppinion. I have been holding off with the H4 upgrade. It is on my list but I have a few other things that i'd rather spend the money on at the moment.
No matter what you do, I would upgrade the wiring to relays. When I first got the car it had the original wiring and I always drive with my lights on. One day on the way home from work I smelled smoke and soon there was a nasty looking stream of same coming out of column. Fried the wiring inside the dimmer switch.
