Odometor Drive Shaft Fix
This first pic of a Speedo Guage from a 71 car. My Odometor is not working because the Shaft that goes through the #s is supposed to have an Expanded end on it that would "grab" the Metal "disk" on the right hand side. Bc it doesnt seat to this disk it only Free spins in the #'s. However, Part of this shaft is still expanded, on the Very Tip of it, and if I pull it toward the Correct Metal disk it then begins to work as it should, but then the Shaft is too far in and Could fall out of place and Also the Left hand Gear would not be in correct alignment w/ the gear that meshes to it...
The second pic shows the Metal gear that should be "grabbing" the shaft. 3rd pic, shows a Odometor from a 70 car which uses Different gearing, but Also NOTE the Small Thin Aluminum part between the Metal disk and the Housing.. My 71 doesnt have that part.. Maybe thats a problem???? Any ideas on a way to have the Metal Shaft expanded to touch the Metal Disk as it should ????? PS. .I would use the one from the 70 model but it seems to not be calibrated , MPH wise, to what it should be... i tried it today.

I would send it to speedometer.com and have them do it. They did mine for $90 shipped both way with a new gear, clean and calibration.
