Odd engine number for a '69?

I am looking at a 1969 911T.

Owner has stated the engine number is 6896445.

I can't find this in any of my references (tech specs, johnson,s books, websites, etc).

Does this mean anything to anybody or is this most likely a mis-quote from the owner?

I was expecting the second digit to be a 1.

Thanks,
Shane

probably a misquote. The 689xxxx is a 1979 3.3 Turbo motor

More likely the number is 639xxxx fora 69 911S MFI. It should be a 901/07 or 901/13
