Yet Another 911 Chips Story

My story starts a few months ago when I replaced my factory cat and sport muffler from my 88 coupe. I replaced it with an M&K and a cat-bypass. My car ran fine before I did this but upon completion I immediately started a bad lean mixture and more backfire than I would care to have. It was almost embarrassing!!

I decided to give Steve a call and after a short conversation - I ordered the chip. It came in today but it was after 7pm and I decided that I didn’t want to mess with it tonight. Well it kept calling me so I decided to tackle the job.

Talk about easy to do!!! It only took me 45 minutes from start to finish. When I finished up I said goodbye to the family and took my baby out.

I cranked her and she fired right up (that was a good sign). I pulled her out and cruised around the block and immediately noticed something a little different. Once it was up to temp, I ran it through the gears and it was very smooth and noticeably different across the band. Smooth I thought. I cruised around for a bit and got down on it once and it felt really good. The best this is - NO BACKFIRE and when I pulled into the garage, I wasn’t asphyxiated!! I keep asking myself, “Why did I wait so long?”
