Doesn't matter. They are currently not accepting new members.

- and they are a group of early cars. Yours is a 79, therefore does not qualify.

Actually I was in the club already. Tyson joined after I did, for whatever that matters.

i wondered if it was more a car or the guy thing. i am sure it is a combination of the two, see scooter. what i really wondered was if the number went with the car or the cat after a sale.

nothing sinister here, if that matters.

I'm kidding of course but I have ALWAYS heard that the Gruppe didn't really want non-Gruppe tagging along or showing up all that much either. If that perception is wrong, wel....SOMETHING is causing it to continue.
What? Where do you hear this? I never could or should speak for them, but I've seen a CGT with them, a 997, Turbos, short hoods and more than one 914. Several, in fact. Plus, there is a 356 or two.

Anyone in the past has been welcome to drive with them on any trip. I wouldn't hesitate to tag along with the Carrera. You'll meet some of most enthusiastic 911 owners ever.

Yes, there's a clique or two, in what organization isn't there? And those same people would be a clique R Gruppe or not. Sorry to contribute to the politics here, but just get out and drive. The more driving and the less said, the better. I believe that is pretty close to the Gruppe's credo.

let's see...I'm not in the R-Gruppe....but I bought my car from an R-Gruppe guy, all my work is done at a shop owned by an R-Gruppe guy, both of my first track instructors are R-Gruppe guys...

Hate them. Hate them ALL!!!

umm, hey Dave...I need to get that tail on before the next cup race...

And while I might not have grease under my fingernails, I do have it in my brain. Hence the twitch.

Add just a name or two to your blocked senders lists and it is amazing how the content improves immediately. Either way the interruptions are tiring on what other wise is such a great resource for the Porsche community.
