944T 8" fuchs on rear of '88 911 coupe

This site has been a great source for 911 info....I posted a topic re locating fuchs wheels for my '88 coupe, and have settled on 7's and 8's. My question relates to mounting the 8 x 16 944T fuchs 951 362 117 on the rear. The offset is 23.3mm, and from what i gathered from other posts is that the 8" fuchs optioned on 911's had less offest (10mm?). I read in another post that the 944 turbo 8's with the larger offset can be used on 911's using spacers.

This seems conflicting, as adding spacers would only increase the already positive offset. So basically, I'm looking to know if anyone runs the 944 turbo 16 x 8's on their 911 (without spacers), and how it looks.

thanks!!

The eights on the rear will fill out the wheel wells like 911 eights, and the increased offset would allow for larger calipers should you wish to go with 'more' brakes. OK IMO.
The 951 eights look like 911 sevens, though. You wouldn't have that great deep-dish look of 911 eights. Not good IMO.

I use 9 for the rear and 951 8s in the front. Nesslar is right 951s look like 911 7s.

911 8 has an o/s of +10.6, 944 8 has +23.3

the width of a spacer reduces the o/s

so a 944 8 w/ a 12.4mm spacer will have its outer face in exactly the same spot as a 911 8. If you want to push it ou more you use a thicker spacer.

the 944 8 does have more caliper clearance but that is generally not a concern in the back.

A 951 8 on the rear in the first pic, and 8s with 7s in the second pic. No spacers involved. You can see how a thin spacer would push the 951 out like Bill said to equal the 911 eight. [img]

Step up! Throw those 8's in the front & buy some 9's for the back!

PatrickB:
9s are fine, but I'll toss the cash toward some other improvements. Really, I think 7s are plenty up front, and 8s and 9s both work out back.
Love that marble gray! Good color!
BTW, no more black Fuchs, as I like the polished look, and the Targa with the duck is not my car. This is:

If you use 944T 8's with a factory 930 spacer it fills the well similar to a 9" Fuchs.
