1st post - New Member

This is my first post as a new member. This forum is awesome, and I have already fixed alot of little issues on my 88 with help from all of you. Thanks a bunch! Already made my first purchase from Pelicans too. I got my 'Carrera' side scripts from Mike this week. Thanks Mike. I definately need to get rid of the polished wheels though. I'm gonna go with the polished petals with black background. Any other ideas for her? Here's a pic of my new ride.

Let the fun begin!

Welcome to the board! Nice looking Targa, gotta agree about the wheels. I almost had mine done like that, and I'm glad I didn't. Get the wheel centers hand painted by Al Reed's wife, cheaper than buying the new ones.

Hello "Red"

Good that you knew to post a picture of your car, it's traditional here. Nice car! As for "improvements"? I tend to agree with the black masking and though I have not been a fan of all black centers in the past, they are growing on me if kept in perfect (not faded out) condition and especially on a GUards Red car with the Porsche crest detailed....just my $.02, you''ll get dozens of opinions on that.

Drop that ride height a bit and stop "off roading" her like in that picture!

See, I take a moment to post and Hugh chimes in...but he actually AGREES with me(?). Amazing!

P.S. Nice that it already has H4's, saved you a few hundred dollars.

Super_Dave_D,
Nice ride! Those are the wheels I'm going for. I have to ask though... Why did you weld the top closed?

Red, Note that the wheels on David'sand Matt's coupes are 16x7's and 8's (at least). You might start saving your pennies for a pair of 8's, then swap your rears to the front. Personally, I think it makes a world of difference.

Dan,
I've got 16's on it , but what do you think the widths are. I just bought a new set of Kumhos for it.

Welcome and beautiful car. Carreras from around that year would be my second choice. They are known to be very dependable and long lasting as well as the classic Porsche look.

Sweet ride, are you getting ready to mount a whitetail on the hood? Be real careful of the horned beast up there, they like to sneak up on you. Where in "upstate" are you?

Nice ride, welcome. Please tell me you sold all those cars in your signature within the last couple of years, and not in 1981 thinking "who'd want this old pos"

Welcome! Very nice car, but yes, those rims are a bit too much.

I notice summer hasn´t really arrived at your parts either.

Welcome!

Agreed on considering getting a pair of 8s for the rear and bump your 7s to the front.

Or, for about the same amount of cash, you can get a set of the new Rota 17s, but then you'd have to unload the Kumhos you just got.

If you stay with 16s and get the 8s for the rear, the Kumhos will work just fine.
