Wayne's Project 90 - Oil Temp Sender R/R

Putting the new, numbered oil temp gauge in dash was easy. Removing and replacing the matching sender has proven to be problematic. On my 1988 Carrera, the engine mount precludes the use of a socket. The fan shroud on one side and Oil Pressure sending unit on the other side of the sender, appears to preclude the use of a box wrench. Looks like I will need to disconnect and slide the fan/shroud and alternator back (towrds rear bumper) to get a good bit on the sender with a box wrench. Any other approaches/clues?
Thanks!
