New (to me) C2S

Hello all. I am usually on Rennlist, but a friend suggested that I post here as well. Well, I closed the deal on a new (to me) 993 this week. This will be a stablemate to my daily driver-- '06 Cayenne S.

Here are some of the details:

1997 C2S
Ocean Blue/ Cashmere
29,000 miles on the clock (used only as a summer driver)
Purchase from original owner (who bought it new at Brahman in '97)
Garaged and kept covered during the life of the car.
PPI completed-- Scored perfectly on leakdown/compression test.

Only slight bummer is that car has had some paintwork done due to a deep "keying" it received. But, importantly, PPI confirmed no accidents. All undercarriage parts are original and no "wrinkles" which would be indicative of structual or frame damage.

I closed the deal and left car with a local ace mechanic to perform original 30,000 mile service (1000 miles early, but why not? )

Below are several pictures from the PPI and when I picked it up at the seller's house. (Yes, the black CS in the background is mine).

It's a funny thing, I have been looking all over the country for the right C2S (as you may know from my prior posts) and this one came up from a private seller less than 20 miles from my house.

A couple other points of interest for you guys.

I was going through the records the prior owner gave to me and there was some pretty interesting stuff in there including two original and pristine brochures for the 911's of that era. It is amazing how much they look and feel like the brochures they make for the Porsche models today. Same size, same (blur/speed effect) photography, same fold out technical info page in the back...only the vehicles pictured are 993's and not 997's, so it almost makes you do a little double take, like going back in time.

Also, there is a video which was given to prospective purchasers, but it's VHS, so I'll have to dig up a player to check it out.

I also have the original window sticker for my car, which shows I have the following options (I note that floor mats were always a ripoff, but some things were a bargain by comparison):

Cashmere/Black full leather seats ($1544)
Porsche Floor Mats- Cashmere ($110)
AM/FM radio with CD Player ($315)
Power Seat Package ($1004)
CD Holders in console ($349)
Motor Sound Package (a bargain at $332)
Hi Fi Package w/10 speakers ($930)
Supple Leather Front and Rear ($398)

Welcome!

The rear of a car does not come more sexy than that. Just lovely!

A modern classis, love the wide body and the split grille.

The $110 for the mats is about right, that's the standard price for Lloyds mats. You'll pay that or more if you buy replacements.

How many C2S were made? I hardly ever see them around.

Not sure about worldwide numbers, but there were only 1752 C2S's delivered to the US...993 of them in 1998 (porsche's sense of irony in the last year of production), and the balance in 1997....

Great looking car!

Question: I thought all 993 S's came with turbo twists...?

Congrats... gorgeous.

The C2S is at the top of my list, but they're still too pricey for my wallet.. maybe in a couple-three more years.

I just need to make sure I get that high-paying follow-on job so I can use my Navy retirement just for fun stuff.
