Help me build my project list

Later this summer I will be pulling the camshafts to have them reground to a 964 profile. I'll be sending the cams and rocker arms to Camgrinder.

I'd like to start purchasing the other miscellaneous parts now to spread the financial pain over a couple months.

I am however not sure what gaskets and gadgets I will need to replace while I'm in there.

So what should I add to my list for this project?

P.S. I have the tensioner upgrade already.

Chain ramps? Which gaskets will need to be replaced?

Anyone? Anyone?

Are you doing a full rebuild? You might need head studs, vavle guides things like that.

I have no plans to do anything other that regrind the cams and rockers. I had the engine out a few months ago and took care of the usual "while I'm in there" stuff.

Cam oring-2
Chainbox seal-2
chainbox cover gasket-2
Curil-t
cam oil line crush washers-as needed
chains and ramps
chainbox to case gaskets-2
rsr rocker shaft seals-since you are there

Thanks Donnie. That's what I'm looking for. Do I really need to replace the chains? What is Curil-T?

dweymer 05-01-2007 05:17 PM

no, but they stretch, how many miles? Curil-t is a sealant used on the cam o rings(ithink). Check the rebuild book, or i can look for u

Upgrade your valve springs.

Geez! I didn't even think about the rebuild book. It is coming off the shelf now.

DaddyGlenn 05-02-2007 04:35 AM

OK...never mind..... the list is on page 156 of the rebuild book.

Thanks again Donnie.

My chains have about 85,000 miles on them. They should be good for a while, shouldn't they?
