Just did Grey RS Carpet-Now what color floor mats?

Hi all,

I realize this is kind of a lame question but I'm curious:

Those of you who did grey perlon RS carpet kits, What did you end up doing for floor mats?

I have a guards red '77 Carrera flared outlaw purchased from Scott S with a 3.2l that's days from being done. (glass out respray, ducktail, rocker-less, elephant racing finned lines, refinished Fuchs, Rennline floorboards, drilled door handles and the RS carpet kit).

I thought maybe Rennline track mats or maybe Coco would love to see some photos and hear some suggestions. The black Lloyds with the red Carrera script while perfectly functional, just don't seem "right" in there anymore.

Thanks,

Ryan

I was all about it until I saw the price tag. $1000+ for floor mats?!! That is ridiculous. Wish I had a template though.

I'm just going to go with all black Coco mats. Why fight it?

I saw those a little after I posted the $1000 price tag. Looks like they would fit properly but be slippery when wet. I ended up going with all black herringbone Coco mats.

buy loose grey carpet to match - have it bonded on the edge to match how porsche does theirs.

Genuine Coco mats weigh a ton. I know, I own a set. Why put in light weight carpet and then add all that weight? I would go with perlon carpet mats which match your RS theme. Much lighter.

Why run mats at all? Use the carpet and replace it if it gets worn.

However I’m glad the prior owners of my car saved the original carped for me to wear out.

I think I am going to buy a section of 1/8" thick corrugated rubber mat and cut it to shape and overlay my new carpet to see how that goes on my project.
