Should I sell it?

Got a letter today from SF Bay Area Air Quality Management District-- they offered to buy my licensed, registered and smog-exempt 1975 911 for $650. Should I sell it?

I don't drive it too much, and I don't think the 110 leaded is all that bad compared to 91 octane pump gas.

Looks like you've already stripped the good parts...Might as well get the $...Are'nt they paying to turn in pistols too?

Cool

Give Earth in the Balance by Al Gore a good read, as well as Unsafe at Any Speed by Ralph Nader.

After doing so I think you will come to realize that sending your 911 to the trash compacter so that a couple of very safe fuel efficient Prius's can be born, is the right thing to do.

You are an unsafe smog belching Earth killer, and the sooner you realize the err of your ways, the better.   Now hand over the keys.   I will make sure you get your check in short order.

You should send them back a picture with a new asking price ($65,000) and see if they still want it.

You could probably get them to up the offer if you put turbo emblems all over it and add a navi and dvd system.... you may want to also consider a right side mirror to avoid future low-ball offers. Also the right front tire looks about a 1/4 lb. low, that knocks about 10,000 of the price. Good luck with the sale :

snbush67 ~ You are BAD. I hope everybody else knows what you are talking about with the turbo emblems and NAVI/DVD. RFLMAO!

Obviously, Mike is not finished with his 911...

They need to add a couple more zeros onto the backend of that number.

Wait, so California tries to buy back polluting cars? Not a bad idea for all the crap cars there are out there though.

i'd drive the car by their office and ask them to come out and see what they're getting for $650 (play along)...then climb in, belt up, say 'nah' out the window and smoke out..

Be sure to take the official out for a "spin" before the "nah"
