Reversal of Wipers Update
I completed the wiper reversal 'mod' as noted in this Wiper Reversal Link I did this when I was replacing the ventilation fan/motor. However, I'd like to add a little to it. I had trouble reaching the nut to loosen it, as the bracket was in the way. I removed the speedometer, and it was MUCH easier to loosen and tighten from inside the car.
Is there any way this could be added to the tech article? Thanks, Mike |
Great tip. Thoughts like this can and are added to the original articles. Wayne does this, so you'd have to email him your info.

Thanks Milt. I'll e-mail Wayne.

Good point, Mike, it is much easier to come in through the gauges to reach the bracket nut. Enjoy the improved view!

OOPS, sorry. I didn't know there was a thread about this. I didn't do a search, simply because the tech article made complete sense to me. Didn't even dawn on me to search to see if there were 'alternate' ways of doing it.
BTW, I also bent BOTH arms at an angle (opposite of the angle that is originally in the passenger side arm). This helps them lay 'flatter' when parked. Later, Mike |
911inSC. How long did it take to do? this looks like a great idea. I've always thought that the wipers obscure the drivers view.
best, Paul. |
It all depends on how good you are at 'working blind' and how small your hands are. If you'd had your gauges out before (or are very easy to remove), I don't see it taking longer than 30 minutes to rotate them to the passenger side, and then a few more minutes to 'bend' the arms in the opposite direction. It really was pretty easy after I did this from inside the car.
Good luck! Later, Mike |
