speedo stops moving up at approx 75 MPH??

Had the car out today for a short drive and noticed the speedo was not going past 75 MPH, not a big deal but I do want to be able to tell the donutmaster the answer to the magic question when asked "Do you know how fast you were going?"

I have searched and found one thread directed at speedo for 84 Carrera but nothing specific to this problem. Anyone have any recommendations or ideas?

I rotated the speedo so I could see it better and that is really when I noticed the problem, checked the connections on the back and nothing was loose so I rotated it back to normal position and still no go. Wondering if I should even fix it as it seems to be accurate up to 75 and at that speed I probably shouldn't be trying to see the speedo anyway but these things drive me crazy so most likely will get it squared away. Do I need to have it rebuilt? Any idea what cost to have refurbished by quality shop?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
