Yes, it is just not fully sealed. I had this problem, and though I thought I had the epoxy all around, I found using a mirror that a very small area on the back side was not fully sealed. Added a little more JB Weld to the back side and started and ran fine, and has for several years since then. I couldn't believe that such a small air leak would prevent the car from running, but it does!

Make sure the valve is completely closed, too.

so i took a mirror and checked the spots and it looks like there is no open spots, and the car is still barely staying on im about to break the pop off valve off!!!!!! Should i just take the air box out? it will also be a good excuse to change some gaskets and rings arounf the air box because im pretty sure some air is escaping somewhere, please give me some input thanks

seal it up a bit more. If it did not do this before the Pop off install, it is still leaking. Make sure you let the stuff dry before starting it up or you will just be sucking the epoxy past the valve.
