Turbo Tail Question

Anyone know if the rubber spoiler lip from a stock Carrera tail can be put in place of the Whale tail rubber on a Turbo tail?? I'm looking for inter-cooler clearance without the turbo tail look. I don't like the way turbo tails look on narrow body cars.

I have seen it done but it doesn't fit right. The Carrera rubber lip is about 3/16" narrower in section than the Turbo lip. That means there will be a 3/16" step from the rubbber to the painted tail all the way around the bottom edge of the tail.
