Sunroof seals

Just finished replacing the seals on my coupe. Since a PO had sort of slapped in some sort of oddball seals I did not have much to go by way of previous example. While I was putting in the rear seal (not the flat one) I found myself wondering which way was up on the seal. With the wire in the seal forming a vaguely "P" shaped profile in the seal is the P right side up or is it down ("d" shape)? It seems to me that since the sunroof panel rises into the roof cutout that the fat part of the seal should be on the bottom so that the rising panel compresses the seal.

Anyway, does anyone have the proper orientation for this seal?
Thanks

DaveErb,

You are correct. The thicker side of the seal is the top and when the roof is closed, the velvet seal is compressed. The rear seal, which is glued to the contour of the roof panel, should be positioned like the seal glued to the front of the roof opening. There are threads on this board which shows pictures of how the seals should look and hints on how to trim the rear seal where it meets with the fixed front seal. Try the search feature if you still have any doubts.
