wheel stud length
I'm putting 1/4 inch hubcentric H&R spacers under cookie cutters on the back of my 69E. I'm using open steel lugnuts.
anyone know what lenght wheel studs will I need? I don't want a ton of stud hanging out, but I do want my wheels to stay on. anyone have them FS?

You could probably get away with 52mm studs. I think stock are 45mm or there abouts. I just replaced all of mine after finding my new wheels were thicker than my Fuch's. Got them for $5 a piece in CA at Ralph T Boothe Co. (626) 336-1396.
I believe they are also available right here at Pelican.

I was refuted on my findings once, but I still believe the front studs are longer than the rears. Like the 52mm mentioned. In that case, you could use front studs in you rear hubs. I did this on my 914 with the 5 lug conversion and was able to pick them up cheap.

Thanks Milt. A friend is giving me a set of 66's, so I'll use those for now, and if too long (aesthetically), I'll just tape to length and grind them down.
More bad news on the rear suspension. I'm half way done beadblasting my right rear control arm and notice a ridge on the opening of the top hole for the spring plate. Pulled it out and the those 2 holes were poorly elongated and chewed up. Looking for 2 good hubs and a right rear control arm now. ![]()

What arms? If steel, just weld them up. You could even do that on AL arms, but maybe not at home. There should be an insert made for those.

You were soooooo right about that yellow targa. Very strange how much of the rear of the car was factory new metal, the entire front was gone. PPO had glassed over everything then laid on a thick coat of undercoating.

BTW Milt, do you know of any directions on adding more gusseting, strengthening steel arms? When shaping the gusset, I was amazed at how flimsy it was.
