Exhausting question - turbo vs. NA

I just had a noobish question about exahausts. Every once in a while I see an exhaust advertised for "turbo 911's or 930's. If the engine was 3.0, but NA instead of turbo, aside from modifying the outlet piping a bit from HX to muffler inlet, to get rid of the turbo section, is there anything in a "turbo" muffler that makes it unusable for an NA car? I know from Miata days, that some engines require properly tuned muff's... in my limited 911 knowledge, I have never read anything that would say that that school of thought applies to 911's.

Sorry to be so windy for a simple question... Can someone set me straight?

NA needs backpressure to run smooth in lower revs
something a turbo get's... from it's turbo anyway
don't know if a turbo muffler is different, but a 911 NA generally does require backpressure...without it , rough idle and low torque down low... great at WOT though, so racers don't care about it so much and can run open pipes and whatnot

Thanks, that helps...

There was a Carrera widebody slant at the Cal Turner show that had a 930 muffler grafted onto a Cat relacement pipe. Pretty slick setup that mocked the turbo look. The muffler should work just fine in any application. It is similar internally to the typical "hotdog" of the early N/A engines.

Would the HX's have a smaller diameter on the turbos, or are they also the same? Brian, did you get my last email yet about the route for the next Fun Run?
