Yeah, I think the '87-89 cars are something like 22.3 or 22.5 Gal. Huge tanks.

Approximately how many gallons do you typically have left when the low fuel indicator comes on?

My 1984 book says 2.1 gallons.

Officially, 21.1 US gallons per spec book. But if you need more, you could vent the bump under the spare for an extra 2 gallons like I did.

I've seen the factory tanks inside, and they are already vented to the hump. At least the ones I've seen.

BTW, the venting is on the inside. It's a tube that runs from the top of the hump, down into the well, and up to the top of the rest of the tank, so air can escape.

Too bad the factory tube doesn't work and my tank now holds 23 gallons...go figure.

How many gallons would my '83 SC tank hold? I would appreciate it as I recently developed 'fluctuating issues' with my gas gauge. I should probably pull it and clean it up this coming weekend. |
