speaking of top resto's do you ever recover them with anything different than the vinyl? like for instance that nice looking black cloth the new cab tops are made out of?

carsinc 06-15-2007 05:46 AM

Tops should not be covered with the black Cab material for it is two way stretch and there is no way to effective attach it to the under side of the top. Use of this material will lead to wind noise and water leaks.

Is this the seal you are talking about?

Taking about the correct front seal. My business is vintage used parts and Targa top restoration. I only got dragged into selling new front seal because of unavailability of the correct one. For over 7 years I have desperately tried to find someone to make the correct one.

It is happening and I am taking firm orders. Interested owners can send me a check for one and I will do an invoice and you are in the Q. Looking at less than 6 weeks. Intro price of $179.99 and $8 ship

dandrews64 06-15-2007 09:40 AM

Dan, will you take paypal?

carsinc 06-15-2007 09:46 AM

I would prefer a check because there is plenty of time before ship. I will most likely take paypal and cards when we go real time.

This may have been covered in a previous post, but does the manufacturer of these new seals also produce seals for other automotive/exterior applications? Meaning is the material specified for this type of use? Thanks.

carsinc 06-15-2007 01:59 PM

I am just concerned on getting this seal correct. We may try side seals next. I have the pic of seal on the car but am unable to post it.

I just know they are in production. I will be getting a sufficient supply for my customers.

Any update on these seals - I will be putting myself in line as well

Thanks,
Don

I would like to be on your list as well. The more folks sign up for this, the less your supplier's production run will cost.
Thanks for all the hard work.

Any updates on this?
Dan have the seals arrived yet? I am looking at getting my targa out of storage this winter, and getting it painted and ready for spring :D A new seal will be great

Hi
I found a place in the UK- www.ForestFine.co.uk (i think)
They do a replacement that fits well with no cutting.
I put both front and rear seals on and the roof fit was nice
I think the rear 1 was £85 or so and the front 1 was £65 or so and they will ship
But your price over there will be better(no shipping/import duties)for you.
