Temp sensor and gauge testing
 

Does anyone have a method of testing both the oil temp sensor and the gauge? I have a 911 with a 3.6 conversion motor so the parts are not exactly a stock application. I have 2 from mount carrera oil coolers and a race fan shroud block off and my gauge still reads around 10 o'clock. I would like to know how to test the sensor with a voltmeter and some hot water or something and then I need a method to test the gauge so I can calibrate it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I bought the kit. temp sender and new temp gauge for the dash.
Readings are not acceptable as real and wondered how I would, could ?, calibrate the combo.

I dont have the numbers, but you test the sender with a ohmeter because the resistance is variable and that is the signal that the gauge wil receive to mark a determinate position. Another option is to use your old engine sensors because they are compatible with your gauges.

There exists a chart somewhere, denoting temp vs. resistance value...I'll do a search a see if I can find it...
