Question Last (hopefully) distributor timing question

Hopefully this is the last thing I ever need to blame on the PO.

I have rotated my distributor as far as it will go (counter-clockwise) however it is not far enough to bring my timing accurate. Is the solution as simple as removing the distributor and rotating it clockwise by a notch?

Second question, but a bit more fun. On my way home from Sears this morning with a new timing light, my car died about 2 miles from home. Popped the hood, and found a wire to my coil had broken. My wife immediately brought the right tools and parts, had it fixed in 5 minutes. Question is, how expensive a dinner do I need to buy her tonight?

yes, remove and rotate the distributor shaft, just lift the dist. up enough to rotate shaft and lower back down. dinner depends, if she drives the car she should buy you dinner for fixing a problem that could have happened to her. if the car is your toy, there's no dinner expensive enough. Don.

Thanks for the guidance on both topics.

Yes, it is my toy, but she has been quite supportive.
