Wheels for Porsche at a reasonable price- WHERE??!

Well I'm stumped, where can you find 17", or preferably 18", attractive staggered wheels with a deep lip with Porsche bolt pattern at a decent price?? We know that there is a mark-up on wheels, but $2500 - $5000 + for a set?? thats crazy?! It should cost about $1000 (used) - $1500ish for a nice brand new set of staggered wheels for pretty much any size, as long as you do your homework. Why is it that any time I search for 5x130 wheels I'm shocked with the sticker price? Even used wheels (speedlines, Fikse, RH, RUF, Techart....etc) bring a shiver when the price is posted? whew!...now that I got that out of my system, AHEM -
I'm looking for either two rear RH / Keskin look wheels that are 18x11/12 OR a nice used set of staggered wheels with an attractive deep lip to fit my 77 widebody that will not put a hole in my pocketbook?! is there a such thing? can someone direct me somewhere or suggest something? I have stalked ebay and our Pelican classifieds and nothing that fits all the classifications listed above.

Baker.

Here are some ideas that inspire me....

Part of the problem is the rare bolt pattern of 5x130. If someone manufactures a wheel with that bolt pattern, it can only fit a Porsche. That's a pretty small market. Then, even within the Porsche world, look at the myriad of offsets. I'm no wheel maker, but I'd imagine that that can't be an easily profitable enterprise. It's not the same as if you have a Honda Civic and are willing to slap on $150 rims from your local auto parts store. Far different economies of scale.

Doesn't GMP have a couple sets of remanufactured 18" wheels in the 3.6 Turbo style (replicas made by RH Wheels) for something in the low $2000 range? There was a thread on Rennlist about a month or two ago for them.

I have two sets of Fikses. I purchased both sets used, and could sell them again for what I paid.

THERE'S A SELLER ON EBAY (IMPORTSPLANET)(NOT RELATED WITH ME) THAT SELLS SOME SPACERS/ADAPTERS THAT CAN BE AN OPTION. THIS KIT OF ADAPTERS WILL CONVERT YOUR (5x112mm or 5x130mm) BOLT PATTERN TO EASIER-TO-FIND (5x4.5"), AND WILL ALSO ADJUST YOUR OFFSET HIGHER.
THERE ARE SOME STAGGERED WHEELS DESIGNED FOR THE NISSAN 350 THAT CAN FIT THOSE ADAPTERS AND HAVE THE OFFSET TO WORK ON OUR CARS.

You need to get out of Fantasy Land...$1500 for a set of new 17" or 18" wheels staggered in a 5 x130 bolt pattern. Do you realize the material cost to cast or forge a set of allot wheels much less the actual manufacturing procedure?

I bought a set of 14" Revolution Racing wheels from England last year...$300 per wheel!

You need to look for a used set and I suggest SSR.

i've seen these a million times on Ebay. Not sure if I would ever do it, but there are some nice wheels for the street that have that BBS LM, Speedline or Ruf look for import cars that are way cheaper. Any idea of the ET you would need F & R w/ those? Here is the link:

I was talking to this seller for OZ mito, he just took way too long to respond, and when he did he said they were sold. There is another set for sale now and again, bad communication. I love the feedback, allot of great ideas thank you!! lets keep this going....

+1 on what Dantilla said. If you're patient and can pony up the cash, buying good used wheels is very low risk.
