No electrical power 1969

Just tried to start my newest acquisition, 69 911 T. Put in 2 new 12 volt batteries, neg. grd. clean terminals....nothing! No power to anything....lights, lighter, dash, etc. I bought the car not running ....this was he first attempt to turn the engine over. Put a test light on the batteries hooked up in series as stock....seem OK. No power to the fuse box or any wires that I check. Is there a factory kill switch that i am missing? Or???? Thanks for the help.

The batteries are hooked up in Parallel, not in series.

Do you have power at the starter?

On the left battery (driver’s side) the B+ terminal has all the connections to the car (fuse box and more). These are large red wires and the big black cable to the starter. The connections should be clean and tight.

Best,
Grady

If you have NO POWER at the (I believe top two, in top fuse panel are always hot) fuse box and No Power at the large red connector on the driver side engine compartment there is always a possibility that someone put in a Kill Switch. Check under dash, seats, glove box, etc.

Those two areas should be Hot with batteries connected.

If none found ...time to get a voltmeter, wiring diagram and start chasing.

Checked again at all fuses and at rear of car....totally dead, no power. The wiring looks to be in excellant condition with no visible corrosion. I have looked under the dash, inside for a kill switch....no switch. I am at a loss. Any suggestions are appreciated relative to troubleshooting. Thanks.

Found power to the starter and to the area in the engine on the left....wire leading to the first of the 2 fuses. I am going to clean up both areas and try again.....stay tuned. Thanks

there are 2 fuses in the engine area;one is hot the other is not, key on or off. Should both be hot with the key on? The fuse closest to the engine is not hot. The fuse looks good, as well as all connectors coming off of it .If jump one to the other, i get wwipers to work and ignition lights on the dash, but no start and have not found how to get power to the second fuse closest to the engine without jumping it. IDEAS???
