Corrosion Concerns

I've noticed some rust on the top of my gas tank - Weird place for corrosion to form, me thinks...Anyone else have this problem? Fixes?

if it is indeed rust, I second the motion to use POR15. POR 15's only weekness is sun light, but on your tank, that won't be an issue.

MarcoB - Make sure that's not rusting from the inside out. Seems like it may be. If that's the case, addressing the rust from the outside will not help you. Condensation in the tank may be the cause.

If it is rusting from the inside out, you will need a professional repair or preferably a new tank.

Hope it's just on the outside.

My guess is that is not rust, but hard to tell from pic. If it is rust then you will have to clean up that area and see how bad it is. Looks like something spilled or leaked.

If it is rusting from the inside out you'll know right away, it will break through into the tank. Start scraping. And order POR and Metal Ready.

Thanks, guys...Hadn't even thought it may be an "inside out" issue! I'll get the Gerber guys to give it a look.
