For an original, new, unused Fuchs wheel...

Straight from Germany...

What would you say the going price might be?
'16's.

Don't know what widths might be available...

try calling your local Porsche dealer. I'm serious, Porsche is the only place to get new unused Fuchs.

I think that was the Sonnen ad in Excellence. I think right now 9" Fuchs are going for almost $1K each, if you can find them.

Yep. did. There are about 300 still available in Germany. Didn't mention widths though.

Try Jason Cullen on this Board. He's a dealer up in the San Francisco Bay area. I bought brand new Fuch 16x9's from him around 6 month's ago for much better than the dealer price. Easy, quick, painless, and professional transaction.

I have a white racing helmet too. When I put it on I can't resist saying "try my new Ciabatta Burger" at least once.

I purchased 16 x 8s from Hennesey Porsche in GA a few months ago. I emailed a number of dealers across the country for prices. Theirs was the best. Price was $850/. Dealt with Kenn Young. Painless transaction. (Except for paying for them.)

Tut, did you get a 911 part number on those or a 951 part number?
I was under the impression that there were no more 'new/unused' 911- 16 x 8's

Tut~ Too little, too late Jason Cullen has brand new 9x16's for $800 each. Also he sometimes has a selection of other new wheels in stock as well. 7&8's. He also usually has a stock of good used wheels too. I had purchased used 951 8's before I found out about him, and he had them in stock (just refinished) for much cheaper than I paid for that still needed to be refinished! The 951 8's in front are the HOT ticket! With the offset, they appear on the outside like 7's, with the extra inch on the inside.

Bill~ We can thank our own Bill Verburg for the following 2 links:

Porsche Wheel Part #'s

Wheel Fitments

JMPRO~ That was up at Willow Spring's last January. The 90 minute drive to the track, I didn't see higher that 140* oil temp The first run group, the outside air temp at the track was 17*. Putting tape over the scoop, I was able to raise the oil temp up to 180* under race conditions.

Since your in Fountain Valley why don't you go check out Al Reeds shop? He refinshes Fuchs all day there and you can see the many styles he has, not sure he might have a set to sell, but you can always by used and have him refinish them for you?

hmm....I think people are using the term "new" a little bit loosely when paired with the name "Fuchs".

Anyhow, why the requirement for new Fuchs? Refinished straight Fuchs are cheaper, apparently about $800 for 8" or 9" eh? The Bentley manual states maximum runout to be 1.0mm. If I were to buy used wheels today, I'd stick with a reputable dealer and get the lateral and radial runouts tested and certified in writing before I buy. The reason is there are a lot of scams going on out there, and someone has got to unload junk wheels somewhere, to someone.

Rusnak~

Check with Jason Cullen. My 9x16's were NEW in the FACTORY BOX, never mounted - $800 each. Apparently, Porsche bought out the Fuch's Factory several years ago. They make a run of many of their wheels, as demands require every year or two. When I purchased mine 6 months ago, Jason said they had made a run about 6 months prior, of 8's & 9's. He has a class act, and also buys and sells "used" Fuchs that he has refinished.

You do raise a VERY valid point though Rusnak! Buyer beware, especially when buying from a private party. I purchased a used set of 8x16 Fuchs (951 offset) that appeared to be in decent shape. I dropped them off to Al for refinishing, and one of the wheels was bent. Definitely repairable, but an extra $100 dollar surprise for the deal. Wheels turned out great, and have been smooth as glass for 6k miles, and 3 DE's so far! Since Jason has all of his used wheels refinished before selling, it would likely never have been an issue buying from him!
